Clonmel Celtic earned a very hard fought victory against a dogged Bansha Celtic side. This win eased a lot of the pressure on manager Tommy Kiely, and let's hope that the team can build on this encouraging result. The first half was a dour affair. Both teams cancelled each other out win a lot of hard tackles, and if I'm to be honest, a lot of mis-placed passes. Celtic looked on edge in the first half and came out at the strt of the second half with a look of confidence in their play. They started to get on top in the midfield and gradually began to break down a stubborn Bansha defence. The breakthrough came from a corner when Graham Doyle's corner was calmly headed into the net at the back post by the one and only Wayne Murray to notch up his first goal of the season. Celtic were pretty much on the back foot after the goal as Bansha put severe pressure on the Celtic defence. But to their credit the defence held firm (for the first time this season) !! It was a realt team performance that won the game in the end for Celtic. Celtic must be delighted with this result and can now start looking to build toward next year without having to look over their shoulders.
