Bansha Celtic 1 Clonmel Celtic 1

Clonmel Celtic came away from Bansha with a hard earned point following a 1-1 draw last Sunday. Celtic were on the back foot for much of the first half against a physically stronger Bansha outfit. Indeed they had keeper John Ryan to thank for keeping them in the tie as he produced a marvellous save to keep the sides level at the break. It was not all one way traffic though as Paddy ‘Wack’ O’Donnell had a great opportunity in the first half but he couldn’t keep his shot on target when played through. Celtic got a great start to the second half when Dessie Byrne was on hand to fire home an excellent cross from debutant Ian Kavanagh. However Celtic couldn’t hold onto the league and Bansha were level within two minutes. Although Bansha had most of the possession they didn’t create too many chances and a draw was probably a fair result in the end.
