Two Mile Borris 0 Clonmel Celtic 5

A Jekyll and Hyde performance saw Clonmel Celtic advance to the next round of the FAI Junior Cup with a 5-0 win away to Borris. There was nothing in Celtic's first half performance to suggest they would eventually win this tie with a lot to spare. They struggled in the first half and but for some sound defending and some excellent goalkeeping from John Ryan they could have been behind at half time. Whatever Michael Kiely said at half time certainly worked as they were a transformed side in the second half. Within 15 minutes of the restart Wayne Kiely had scored twice to put Celtic in command. With a two goal cushion Celtic grew in confidence and produced their best football of the season. Second half substitute David Joyce, who was inspirational when he came on, beat the offside trap to make it 3-0. With 15 minutes remaining the ball broke to Wayne Murray and his effort took a deflection to beat the Borris keeper for Celtic's fourth. Dessie Byrne, who came on as a second half sub, scored a fine effort to make the final score 5-0 to Celtic.
