Clonmel Celtic broke the 20 point barrier in the Premier league for only the second time with a scrappy 1-0 win over Cahir Park in Ferryhouse last Sunday. This win sees Celtic regain 4th spot and also gives them with a great chance of beating their record haul of 25 points that they achieved in their debut season back in 2004. In a game littered with errors in the wet trying conditions the all important goal came on 34 minutes when Paul Kennedy slotted home Paddy O'Donnell's centre. Cahir almost equalised on the stroke of half time but John Ryan pulled off a fine save. Celtic should have wrapped this game up in the first fifteen minutes of the second half but Johnny Cagney and Paddy O'Donnell wasted opportunities to put this game to bed. Cahir sensed an opportunity and grew in confidence as the second half wore having more of the possession but poor finishing was to ultimately to prove their downfall. Celtic regained control again towards the end but Paddy O'Donnell spurned a late opportunity which saw Celtic nervously see out the final few minutes.
