Cahir Park 1 Clonmel Celtic 2

Clonmel Celtic ended their poor recent run of results with a crucial 2-1 win away to Cahir last Sunday morning. Celtic were full value for this win as they were well on top from start to finish. They took the lead on 18 minutes when Andy Cosgrave flicked on a long throw from Mick Saunders and Eddie Doyle finished to the net to put Celtic in front. Celtic continued to dictate the game with David Joyce and Johnny Cagney in control in midfield and Andy Cosgrave and Wayne Kiely causing problems up front. The pattern continued in the second half with Celtic creating the better chances and Andy Cosgrave, David Joyce and Brian Carroll all having opportunities to seal the game for Celtic. The Cahir keeper was in top form keeping his team in the game but the assurance goal did eventually come on the hour mark when second half sub Brian Carroll scored his first goal for the club. Cahir did pull a goal back on 75 minutes but Celtic held out for an important and deserved three points.
