Stephen Ryan picked the perfect moment to end his goal draught as it was his effort in the last minute of extra time that propelled Celtic into the second round of the FAI Junior Cup. Celtic has to fight all the way against a game Cashel, twice having to come from behind. Cashel took the lead on 26 minutes when Celtic failed to deal with a free kick and Andrew Flanagan slotted home at the far post. Celtic immediately upped their game and Paul Kennedy and Andy Cosgrave both came close before Paul Kennedy seized on a defensive error to burst through, round the keeper and fire home Celtic's equaliser on 43 minutes. Cashel regained the lead on 65 minutes when once again Celtic failed to clear a free kick and this time Tony Hewitt fired home from close range to set up a shock result. However Celtic took control of the game forcing Cashel back deeper and deeper. With 8 minutes remaining Andy Cosgrave worked an opening from the left and Paul Kennedy controlled and fired home his cross to make it 2-2. Celtic continued to force the issue in extra time and just when it looked to be heading for penalties Stephen Ryan arrived at the far post to tap home a Ross Doyle centre.
