Clonmel Celtic went down 2-0 to a very organised St. Michaels side. Although disappointed with the result, Clonmel Celtic can take some positives from Sunday night's defeat to St Michaels in Tipperary. Celtic gave as good as they got and were very much holding their own until they conceded two late goals. The first of the goals was a powerfully struck free kick from Paul Breen which went straight through the Celtic wall and found the net to give Michaels the breakthrough. Five minutes later they scored the second to wrap up the points after a mix up in communication between the Celtic defense. This was by no means a backs to the wall effort from Celtic and they were comfortably holding St Michaels and created some chances of their own, Tommy Kiely of which was guilty of missing three golden opportunities when he was straight through on goal. Kenny O'Shea marshalled his defence well while being suported well on by his full back Andrew Cosgrave, while Danny Madigan and Stephan Ryan impressed in midfield. Up front Paul Kennedy put in a lot of work and helped out the midfield whenever he could.
