Clonmel Celtic are out of the Munster Junior Cup after a 2-0 defeat at home to Rock Rovers last Sunday. Celtic were missing a number of players but despite that this was a disappointing performance that never carried any real threat. With the wind at their backs Rovers had the better of the first half and lead through an Alan Ryan goal at the break. Celtic got off to the worst possible start in the second half when a defensive error let in Martin Walsh and he scored to put the Carrick side 2-0 up. For the remainder of the game Celtic had a lot of possession but simply did not create enough chances. Their best chance came on 70 minutes when good work by Eddie Doyle put Emmet Johnson in but his effort was blocked by the keeper.
