Clonmel Celtic FC is a club that is on the up. The club has made great strides in recent years with the completion of the new clubhouse and all weather pitch to name but a few. The club has a great underage structure in place for the last number of years which has paved the way for the junior teams to push on and compete for honours on all fronts. Hopefully the first team can mirror the success had by youth teams and second team in recent seasons gone by.

Despite being a relatively new club having been formed in 2003 Clonmel Celtic has already made its mark both on and off the pitch on football in Tipperary.

On the field of play its greatest achievement to date has been winning the Munster Youths Cup in 2004 when they beat Waterford Bohemians 2-0 in the final at the Dr Pat OCallaghan Sports Complex. In 2006 a Clonmel Celtic Youth team also won the Division 2 Youth and Cup double. It was during this season that youth striker Jamie Kelly scored a remarkable 46 goals, a record that is unlikely if ever to be beaten.

At junior level the club picked up its first trophy in May 2009 when it won the Tipperary Cup with a memorable 2-1 win over Clonmel Town. This win made up for the disappointment of losing in the final of the same competition in 2007 when they were surprisingly beaten by first division side St Michaels B in a penalty shoot out after the game had finished scoreless. The 2006/07 has been Celtics most successful season in the league to date finishing just 3 points behind league champions on 34 points, their best league point total to date. We have also tasted success at junior B level by claiming the Division 3 Shield and League Double in 2008.

The club has a thriving schoolboy section where the emphasis is on participation and enjoyment. We run summer camps, challenge games and regular get togethers for children under 10 while we have teams competing in the Tipperary Schoolboy Leagues at different age groups from under 11 right up to under 16. In 2004 our under 15 team won the Tipperary League and the under 16 team repeated this achievement in 2006.

The club has also proved successful off the pitch. Within 5 years of its formation in 2003 it had built and developed dressing rooms and an All Weather Pitch thanks to the excellent work of its hard working committee.
