Clonmel Celtic defeated Cahir Park 3-2 on Wednesday evening to advance to Round 2 of the Munster Youths Cup.  Celtic started the game well and took an early lead when Sean Kiely took advantage of a defensive mix up to slot home from close range. It was a closely fought contest on the opening half and Celtic missed the opportunity to double their lead when no one was on hand to take advantage of a great delivery from Kyle Ryan. Celtic were punished for defensive uncertainty on the 30 minute mark and Liam Kelly took full advantage to level the game. Celtic were the better outfit in the second half allowing Cahir no time on the ball. On 70 minutes they regained the lead when Kyle Power scored from close range from another excellent Kyle Ryan delivery. Within 5 minutes Celtic were two up when Kyle Ryan spotting the Cahir keeper off his line fired home a fine effort from 25 yards. Cahir battled to get back into the game and Rowan Barrett slotted home a late penalty but Celtic held on for a 3-2 win to progress to Round 2.
