Galway lifted their second SFAI Kennedy Cup in four years last Friday beating North East Region 1-0 in the final at University Limerick thanks to a first half Matthew Dooley goal. It was a disappointing week for South Tipperary who finished bottom of Group 2 after defeats to Cork (0-4) Waterford (1-4) and Longford (1-2). This placed South Tipperary in the Trophy where they had their only success of the week by beating Lisburn 3-1. This was as good as it got for them as they fell to a heavy 8-1 defeat to Mayo and their final game against WWEC finished 1-1 with Waterford winning the penalty shootout to see South Tipperary finish the week second last. It was a great experience for the five Celtic boys with Ciaran Horgan and Dmytra Makarchuk both marking their appearances with goals in the group stages.
